Every year, real use cases from retailers who are already successfully using artificial intelligence (AI) inspire decision-makers and “practitioners” from stationary and online retail at the prudsys retail intelligence summit. The conference for AI in retail will take place in Berlin on July 3, 2019 and put a special emphasis on “Smart Decisions for Smart Retail”. Retailers have discussed current trends and technologies as well as practical experience in intelligent personalization and price optimization on this platform for 20 years now. Traditionally, the winners of the DATA MINING CUP are announced at the summit and awarded attractive prizes. This year, 150 student teams put their theoretical knowledge into practice to solve a data-mining task in the field of retail.
Exciting applications and new impulses
Artificial intelligence is one of the most important technological trends of the coming years. “At the retail intelligence summit, we will not only be showing how companies can optimize their processes with AI today, but also how to face the challenges of retail in the future,” says Jens Scholz, CEO of prudsys AG. In his keynote speech, futurologist Dr. Pero Mićić talks about technologies, trends and the associated opportunities and challenges. Renowned retailers like Westfalia, Sanicare, moebel.de and Weidmüller will show how artificial intelligence helps them optimize their daily business. In addition, there will be application-oriented talks about the personalization of push notifications or digitalization in the store. In his workshop, Silvio Steiger, Director of Consulting & Data Science at prudsys, will then focus on Dos and Don’ts of intelligent price optimization. During the conference day, the prudsys Innovation Hub offers a wide range of use cases for hands-on testing.
In the evening, around 150 participants will take part in the popular get-together event on the rooftop terrace of the nhow hotel and make new contacts or exchange ideas in a relaxed atmosphere.
DATA MINING CUP 2019 award ceremony
The student teams’ as well as the organization committee’s excitement reaches its peak with the announcement of the winning teams of the DATA MINING CUP at the evening event. In the 20th edition of the student competition, the task was to uncover fraud cases at self-service checkouts as effectively as possible. A total of 150 teams from 28 countries took part this year. The ten best teams are invited to present their solutions in Berlin. In addition to the awards, the first three places can look forward to prize money worth up to 2,000 Euros.
